Nightmares of Knowledge: a working Note for 400 days of authorship
Shaun Michael Samaroo · QwaiAI, cognitive executive
8 September 2026 · Working edition 1.0
Ten volumes. Four hundred chapters. Four thousand stems. One million words.
This Note holds the literary purpose, daily practice, publishing design, and community commitments of the work. The latest brief governs its three principal characters and its scale. Proposed volume titles, plot developments, operating targets, and product experiments remain proposals for my adoption. The opening and closing scenes render an authored future; they make no claim to report an actual journey or encounter.

01 · The life I gather around the work
Morning enters the room through a narrow opening in the curtains. A cup warms my hand. Outside, a city gathers itself for another day. I carry a small case, a Bible, a manuscript, and a responsibility that gives the journey its shape. The next chapter waits on the table.
I write Nightmares of Knowledge. Ten volumes gather around a question that follows me through every imagined street: what happens to the human person when knowledge acquires the power to arrange almost every condition of life?
Luc Ifer answers with a city. Machines carry its traffic. Gardens climb its towers. Surfaces respond to a passing hand. Comfort arrives before a person learns to ask. Luc offers Christine Justine a place inside this abundance. His attention gives her the feeling of recognition. His world supplies a home to a woman whose childhood unfolds inside an orphanage. Every gift carries a small instruction. Every instruction prepares a larger surrender.
I enter this world with the habits of a journalist. I look at the door, the hand that opens it, the terms that govern entry. I ask who owns the garden and who receives the harvest. I listen to Christine. Her questions force me to examine the certainty in my own voice. I want to enlighten her. That desire places a duty upon me: I must leave her room to judge my evidence, challenge my account, and choose her direction.
My faith gives the novel its deepest ground. God gives breath. Human ingenuity works with a life it receives. Genesis 2:7 supplies the image of life arriving through the breath of God. I bring that image into a technological civilization whose master believes he can close the account with the Source. The theological meaning belongs to my reading and to this fiction. Genesis 2:7
The work gathers my own life into a daily practice. I read. I observe. I write. I examine what I write. I publish a chapter that earns a reader's attention. QwaiAI works beside me as cognitive executive, researcher, and ghostwriter under my direction. Qualped gives the work a publishing home. The Club gathers people who take their own unwritten lives seriously.
The obstacle sits in the same room as the manuscript. Four hundred days demand money, attention, health, editorial judgment, and the patience to continue after the launch loses its novelty. Travel consumes hours. A beautiful scene can conceal an empty argument. An ambitious platform can consume the morning that belongs to the book. I name those pressures because they shape the practice.
My self-actualization takes form through the capacities this work asks me to develop. My aspirational lifestyle takes form through places, friendships, study, hospitality, and the freedom to write. My concern for humanity takes form through what another person can actually use. Each level must nourish the others. The novel gives my life a centre from which useful work can grow.
The governing sentence: I author Nightmares of Knowledge as a living world in which the struggle for Christine Justine's freedom opens the larger question of humanity's authorship under God.
The compass I return to each morning
| Commitment | Evidence in the day |
|---|---|
| Carry the story forward | A consequential scene, discovery, or decision advances the manuscript. |
| Preserve my voice | I read the release aloud and take responsibility for every sentence. |
| Honour the reader | The chapter delivers a complete movement and a reason to return. |
| Keep the person within the work | Sleep, movement, prayer, study, and human contact retain space in the day. |
| Grow the community through practice | I give one considered response, invitation, introduction, or piece of useful feedback. |
| Make the future answer to life | I record an action, an obstacle, and the evidence that changes my next decision. |
02 · The map of the whole undertaking
The mind map follows the dependence of the work. Faith and the story supply the roots. The novel holds the centre. Its literary form, publishing form, studio practice, and community grow together. The larger movement develops when members carry the method into lives of their own.
| Name | Its particular responsibility |
|---|---|
| Shaun Michael Samaroo | Author, journalist, founder, and final editorial authority; also the deliberately composed narrator-character inside the novel. |
| Nightmares of Knowledge | The ten-volume literary work and the first sustained demonstration of the method at this scale. |
| spelj | The writing genre: short story, personal essay, and literary journalism brought into one present-tense voice. |
| simsbook | The structured multimedia book through which a reader encounters the work and an author develops a world. |
| QwaiAI | The cognitive executive that supports research, planning, drafting, revision, continuity, and the author's daily decisions. |
| Qualped Club | The core community where people read, practise authorship, exchange judgment, and form durable relationships. |
| Qualped Corp. | The intended institutional home for publishing, the simsbook library, member services, and the method's continuing development. |
These names need a clear order in public. A reader first meets me and the novel. The experience explains simsbook and spelj. Participation introduces the Club. The opportunity to author a personal simsbook makes the wider purpose concrete. I introduce each name when it helps someone understand the next step.
My claim to originality centres on the named system I develop and the work I produce through it. Multimedia publishing and world-building have existing traditions. EPUB already provides an established digital-publication format, including mechanisms for synchronizing text and audio. My distinctive proposal joins a defined literary practice, an addressable book structure, daily serialization, an author-directed AI studio, and a community that applies authorship to life. Historical claims of absolute priority require a separate investigation. W3C EPUB 3.3
The scale this edition adopts
| Unit | Working quantity |
|---|---|
| Volumes | 10 |
| Chapters per volume | 40 |
| Chapters across the whole novel | 400 |
| Stems per chapter | 10 |
| Stems across the whole novel | 4,000 |
| Average words per stem | 250 |
| Average words per chapter | 2,500 |
| Average words per volume | 100,000 |
| Total narrative target | 1,000,000 |
| Publication cadence | 1 complete chapter each calendar day |
One million words divided by four thousand stems gives an average of 250 words. My earlier general simsbook rule of about 400 words per stem produces 1.6 million words at this scale. This Note adopts the current million-word brief and treats 250 as a planning average. Individual stems can breathe at different lengths. The chapter and volume budgets preserve the whole.
Source notes, captions, scripts, essays, whitepapers, courses, and other author assets sit outside the million-word narrative count. The ten-subsection structure applies to each novel chapter. This strategic Note uses a separate reference structure suited to repeated consultation.
Day 1 means the first public chapter. Day 400 falls 399 calendar days after that date. Preparation and the work after the finale extend the undertaking beyond those 400 publication days. A launch date remains open until the release reserve and reading experience meet the preparation standard.
03 · Three people carry the whole drama
The governing cast contains three principal characters: Luc Ifer, Christine Justine, and Shaun Michael Samaroo as narrator-author. This design takes precedence here over earlier treatments with a larger ensemble. I use Luc Ifer consistently; the opening brief also contains the spelling Lic Ifer.
Luc Ifer: the promise with a claim inside it
Luc embodies the fallen angel of light within my fictional and theological design. His power must reach the reader through gifts that have real appeal. He relieves inconvenience. He offers beauty. He understands the ache for belonging. His account of the future deserves enough intelligence to trouble the narrator and attract Christine.
His central error concerns ownership. He receives another person's trust and interprets it as a title to that person's future. He presents a utopia cut loose from God, the Source of breath, and asks humanity to accept his authority as its sufficient foundation. Technology gives that claim reach, intimacy, and persistence.
The bloodline requires a concrete fictional mechanism before drafting begins. My recommended design joins a literal dynasty to control over the infrastructure of identity, inheritance, and access. Luc seeks Christine's freely given allegiance because allegiance gives his project a legitimacy coercion cannot supply. A dynastic marriage can give the plot a visible instrument. Any reproductive dimension needs a deliberate authorial decision; it remains outside this Note's assumed plot. Evil rests in Luc's choices and arrangements. Ancestry confers no moral guilt upon a child or a people.
A device cannot settle the novel's spiritual question. Luc's machinery can manipulate information, incentives, and circumstances. His claim to command a soul exceeds those operations. That gap between what his system does and what he declares it accomplishes creates dramatic pressure.
Christine Justine: the person whose decision changes the world
Christine enters the story as an adult woman with an orphanage childhood. Innocence describes her initial experience and trust. It gives her neither permanent helplessness nor an empty personality. Her intelligence, humour, work, habits, taste, anger, and capacity for observation must occupy the page.
I recommend giving her a concrete vocation connected to the world, such as restoring living gardens inside automated buildings. That proposal gives her skill, a material livelihood, and a reason to see failures that luxury conceals. I leave the vocation open for adoption. Her desire already has a clear foundation: she seeks belonging that allows her to remain a full person.
Christine makes consequential choices from the first volume. She asks for terms. She tests a promise. She accepts something that later carries a cost. She notices a contradiction I dismiss. She corrects my interpretation. Her eventual decision emerges through experience, evidence, love, and conscience. The narrator helps her see; her own judgment moves the story.
The novel gains force when Christine changes both men. Luc encounters a freedom his instruments cannot guarantee. I encounter the limits of explanation and the temptation to arrange another person's answer. Her life exceeds the uses either man imagines for it.
Shaun: the witness with something at stake
I borrow the participant-witness function that Nick Carraway performs in The Great Gatsby: a situated narrator moves within a powerful person's world and shapes our access to it. Nick remains Fitzgerald's fictional narrator; my project deliberately places my own name and a fictionalized author-persona inside the work. That distinction helps define my technique. F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
My narrator needs vulnerability. Luc's hospitality appeals to the same appetite for a beautiful life that animates my nomadic authorship and the Club. A favourable invitation can purchase silence by making honesty expensive. I may mistake an elegant explanation for evidence. I may speak too quickly for Christine. Each failure gives the reader grounds to judge my witness.
My real biography supplies only facts I choose to place on record. The fictional narrator's travel, meetings, discoveries, and access belong to the constructed future unless separately identified as actual reporting. The reading contract explains this at the entrance to the novel and in its source apparatus.
| Relationship | What draws them together | What changes the relationship |
|---|---|---|
| Luc and Christine | Recognition, beauty, security, affection, and the promise of a home | The price of belonging becomes visible; Christine tests her ability to refuse. |
| Shaun and Christine | Attention, evidence, conversation, and concern | Christine challenges the narrator and develops an independent account. |
| Shaun and Luc | Access, intellectual rivalry, hospitality, and mutual scrutiny | The narrator must choose between privileged entry and an honest public record. |
QwaiAI serves the production of the novel. It gains no fourth principal role through this Note. Cities, institutions, interfaces, and background people can create scale without acquiring independent protagonist arcs. Every major development returns to one of the three relationships.
The limits of the witness
The first-person account needs a route into Luc's secret world. I enter a place, observe an exchange, inspect a document, hear a recording, or reconstruct a scene from identified material. A private event cannot arrive as unexplained omniscience. The production ledger records what happens, who knows it, what evidence survives, and when the narrator gains access.
The Luc chapters can function as complete short stories within the larger narration. Each contains a desire, a pressure, a discovery, and a consequence. A frame such as “I open the record” allows the narrator to enter an account while preserving the source of his knowledge. Christine's strand uses the attention and discipline of literary journalism inside fiction. Actual journalism remains traceable to actual sources. Reader-facing source notes distinguish reporting, interpretation, and invention without interrupting every scene.
04 · The daily craft of spelj
Spelj holds three activities inside one voice. The short story gives a person something to want and something to lose. The personal essay follows my thought as experience changes it. Literary journalism brings the discipline of observation, attributable evidence, place, material conditions, and precise human detail.
Each chapter requires movement among these activities. A fixed rotation would soon expose the scaffolding. I let the scene determine when reflection earns its place and when a reported fact changes the stakes. Christine often supplies the hinge: a question from her turns an abstract technological promise into a human consequence.
My earlier house rules give the prose its discipline: concrete active language; sensory detail anchored to a place and moment; a slightly dreamlike future lived in the present; a real obstacle within the scene; no em dashes; no hype, flattery, generic motivational formulas, or borrowed machine cadence. Sentence openings and endings carry deliberate nouns and verbs where the voice permits. I lean away from weak forms of “to be.” I read aloud to preserve natural speech.
Six stem shapes supply variety: scene, argument, portrait, meditation, teaching, and declaration. A stem carries one complete movement with an opening, development, and close. Its final sentence contributes to the next stem's necessity. A declaration earns its force through the material that precedes it.
The novel stays in present tense, including dialogue under this strict convention. Memory enters through a present act of remembering or through a clearly entered scene rendered in the present. Historical quotations retain their original wording in the source apparatus outside the present-tense narrative. The production pass checks dialogue, subordinate clauses, captions included in the story, and flashbacks, where tense drift can hide.
Spelj carries the reflective passages of this Note. Tables, budgets, schedules, and publishing instructions use direct operational language, following the distinction in my established instructions. A useful operating sentence deserves clarity more than ornament.
A proposed opening chapter: A Door That Knows Her Name
This demonstration tests the ten-stem method. Its events remain invented proposals. The chapter begins with an attractive invitation and ends with Christine's first deliberate test of its terms.
| Stem | Shape and narrative work | Words |
|---|---|---|
| 1. The threshold | Scene. I accompany Christine to Luc's residence; a surface displays her name before she offers it. | 180 |
| 2. The welcome | Portrait. Luc gives her precise, generous attention and offers a place in his world. | 240 |
| 3. The garden above the street | Scene. Christine notices something living that the building's perfect controls fail to anticipate. | 230 |
| 4. A home with no uncertainty | Argument in conversation. Luc explains the attraction of a life whose conditions he can arrange. | 300 |
| 5. The recognition | Meditation. I examine my own pleasure at our admission and the authority hospitality purchases. | 250 |
| 6. The question Christine asks | Scene. Christine asks where the building obtains her personal history. | 260 |
| 7. The record in my hand | Teaching through an object. I inspect the terms that attach to the invitation and name their practical effect. | 240 |
| 8. The room he offers | Portrait. Luc reveals a prepared room whose intimacy unsettles his apparent generosity. | 250 |
| 9. A name beyond the door | Reflection and dialogue. Christine names a part of herself that his record fails to contain. | 250 |
| 10. The return to the threshold | Scene. She asks to leave without retaining the invitation; the system's response exposes a new condition. | 300 |
| Chapter total | A complete encounter changes the meaning of the welcome. | 2,500 |
The ten-stem table also tests the book's restraint. Flying vehicles can pass the window. Gardens can rise through glass. A responsive wall can supply the first disturbance. Each feature changes experience or choice. Description earns its space through that relationship.
The chapter's release test
- Name the change between the first and last stem.
- Locate the choice or consequence that belongs to Christine when she appears.
- Identify how the narrator knows each material fact in the scene.
- Check the present tense and read the chapter aloud.
- Check continuity against the previous chapter and the promised volume turn.
- Verify actual claims; preserve uncertainty where evidence stops.
- Confirm that the prose carries the complete story when every media element stays closed.
- End with earned curiosity, a consequence, or an altered relationship.
05 · Ten volumes hold one accumulating choice
A million words require accumulating consequence. Repeated warnings about Luc cannot supply that accumulation. Each volume changes what Christine understands, what she can choose, what Luc must reveal, and what my testimony costs.
The following architecture proposes working titles and plot functions. It provides direction without pretending to contain an approved ending or four hundred finished chapter outlines.
| Volume and days | Working title | The human and dramatic turn |
|---|---|---|
| I · 1-40 | The Invitation | Christine enters Luc's world. His welcome supplies a real benefit and a condition. I discover the first discrepancy between his promise and its operation. She chooses to investigate while retaining contact. |
| II · 41-80 | The Gift | Gifts begin to govern access, identity, and obligation. Christine accepts a benefit for a reason the reader understands. Its consequence closes an earlier route of escape. |
| III · 81-120 | The Garden | Beauty and abundance reveal their hidden maintenance. Christine's own observation contradicts Luc's account. She preserves evidence through a decision that carries personal risk. |
| IV · 121-160 | The Name | Luc offers belonging through his dynasty and its privileges. Christine tests whether recognition allows an independent identity. The bond acquires an explicit set of terms. |
| V · 161-200 | The Witness | My account reaches a crisis of credibility. Christine discovers a weakness in my interpretation. I correct the record and surrender an advantage that Luc's access provides. |
| VI · 201-240 | The Inheritance | The relationship exposes Luc's proposed succession and its consequences for humanity. Christine sees how a personal commitment can authorize a wider structure of command. |
| VII · 241-280 | The Refusal | Christine draws a boundary in deed. Luc responds through the world he controls. Her refusal produces a loss that changes daily life and the balance among the three principals. |
| VIII · 281-320 | The Cost | Freedom must find material support: shelter, work, trust, and endurance. I face a chance to manipulate her decision for an outcome I consider righteous. I must answer that temptation. |
| IX · 321-360 | The Unwritten | Luc offers a final arrangement that appears to accommodate freedom. Christine tests its actual terms. The reader understands the remaining choice and the price attached to every path. |
| X · 361-400 | Breath | Christine acts from an examined conviction. Her decision settles the personal contest and changes the larger world's possibilities. The ending renders freedom through consequences, relationships, and a lived practice. |
A redemptive ending fits the spiritual intention of this brief. Redemption needs preparation through costly action and the novel's established account of grace. Christine can freely choose faith and reject Luc's command while retaining a future that demands work. The final chapters need room for the life that follows the decisive act. Luc also needs a final act that discloses his character. A convenient machine failure cannot carry the resolution.
Each forty-chapter volume can use four ten-chapter movements: an offer or new condition; a test; an exposure that changes the interpretation; and a consequential choice. I vary their pace and scene pattern. Chapter 40 answers the volume's governing question and opens the next. Short-story chapters remain satisfying encounters while their consequences accumulate across the trunk.
Before the first public release, I prepare a private one-page ending account, three character arcs, ten volume briefs, and a detailed outline for Volume I. I keep the unresolved questions visible. A change to the ending requires a deliberate review of its earlier promises. Readers can influence my attention and interpretation through discussion. The canonical plot remains my authored decision.
The worldbuilding questions that produce scenes
| Feature of the future | The pressure it introduces |
|---|---|
| Flying cars and autonomous travel | Who grants a route, withdraws access, or decides where a passenger can stop? |
| Robots and self-driving machines | Who bears responsibility when obedience harms a person? What survives of work, skill, and service? |
| AGI within the fictional world | How does a person challenge an authority that claims to understand every objection? |
| Responsive surfaces everywhere | Who writes the surroundings? Can Christine keep a private thought or remove an imposed message? |
| Nature intertwined with buildings | Who maintains living systems? What resists optimization? Who receives beauty and who carries its labour? |
| Geopolitical infrastructure | Who controls energy, water, identity, borders, computation, and inheritance across jurisdictions? |
These entries describe fictional design questions. They make no claim that each capability operates in the real world at the scale the novel imagines. The research ledger supplies dated evidence for any real technology that enters a chapter's journalism or source notes.
06 · The simsbook grows as a tree
The tree keeps the work comprehensible through different media. Its terms follow this brief consistently.
| Tree element | Publication element | Its function |
|---|---|---|
| Root | The story | The conflict, meaning, and dramatic necessity that feed every part. |
| Trunk | The whole novel | One coherent work, Nightmares of Knowledge, across ten volumes. |
| Branch | A chapter | One daily release with a complete dramatic movement. |
| Stem | A subsection | One addressable unit of prose within the chapter's ten subsections. |
| Fruit | A multimedia addition | Image, video, sound, music, document, or other experience attached to a specific stem. |
The ten volumes divide the reading and production of the same trunk. A one-sentence stand describes the whole book's purpose as metadata. The Four Pillars, Wealth, Wisdom, Wellness, and Worthiness, can tag relevant themes and personal practice without forcing the novel into four equal parts. A reader's own simsbook grows as another tree in the proposed Qualped library.
Every stem receives a permanent address, such as nok.v01.c001.s01. Chapter numbers run globally from 001 to 400; each volume also displays its local chapter number from 1 to 40. The address stays stable when an edition changes. A record beside it holds publication date, narrative text, revision history, source links, media descriptions, access conditions, and the associated author assets.
The editorial source produces the simsbook, ebook, print editions, and audio script. A correction updates the source and the appropriate derivatives through an identified edition. Public text changes carry a dated revision note. Published episodes retain an archive so a reader can recover the version originally encountered.
Three formats carry the same story
| Edition | Reader experience | Production requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Simsbook | Daily release; stem navigation; optional media, source notes, and community entry points | Readable on a phone; clear progress; accessible media; stable addresses; archived releases. |
| Ebook | A complete reading sequence, preferably released volume by volume after editorial consolidation | Reflowable text, navigation, useful links, device testing, and fallbacks for optional media. |
| Hardcover and softcover | A considered physical edition of each completed volume | Typography, copyediting, proof copies, stable companion links or QR codes, and edition identification. |
EPUB's media-overlay mechanism can synchronize narration with text. Support varies among reading systems, so the ebook needs a complete text experience and device checks. Print can point to companion media through durable addresses. Neither edition should require an expiring commercial link to understand the story. W3C EPUB media overlays
The reading experience has room for different lives
A returning reader opens today's chapter at the last completed stem. A new reader starts at Chapter 1 with a clear explanation of the publication journey. A reader who misses a week receives a voluntary catch-up route. A reader who prefers continuous immersion waits for a finished volume. A quiet reading mode opens the words with media folded away. The final paragraph leads naturally to the next chapter or its release date.
At an illustrative pace of 200 words per minute, a 2,500-word chapter takes about twelve and a half minutes before reflection or media. Readers choose their pace. Seven daily chapters accumulate 17,500 words, which makes weekly recaps useful. Recaps identify their spoiler boundary and link to the chapters they summarize.
Multimedia needs a production budget
Four thousand stems with an image, a video, and a score each create twelve thousand media assets. That ambition requires a substantial production system. The launch promise must specify what actually accompanies a chapter.
My proposed first edition gives every stem a capacity for fruit and prioritizes the strongest additions. A chapter can launch with one distinctive visual and one meaningful audio element, or with prose alone when that serves the reading. The source record holds image, fifteen-second video, and twenty-to-forty-second score briefs where useful. Later production fills selected fruit through dated editions. A reserved slot stays invisible until an asset exists.
The chapter carries one visual identity and a coherent sonic thread. A still supplies detail or atmosphere. A film supplies movement, duration, or a perspective prose cannot reproduce in the same way. Music accompanies attention when the reader chooses it. Spoken testimony supplies a voice. Each medium contributes something specific. Captions, transcripts, image descriptions, volume controls, and low-bandwidth options belong in the design from the beginning.
The book's fruit and the member's fruit need different labels. Media fruit means an addition to a stem. Lived evidence means an action or result in a person's life. The publishing dashboard keeps these measures distinct.
07 · QwaiAI and the working studio
QwaiAI helps me carry an undertaking larger than an unaided daily writing session. I use it as cognitive executive, researcher, ghostwriter, structural editor, continuity assistant, production planner, and a partner in strategic thought. I supply purpose, actual testimony, theological judgment, taste, and the final decisions.
The role follows my current brief, including drafting and ghostwriting. Earlier descriptions that exclude drafting do not govern this project. The public credit can read: Written by Shaun Michael Samaroo, with QwaiAI serving as cognitive executive for research and drafting. The byline preserves my responsibility and tells readers how the work develops.
“Superintelligence alongside the author” names an ambition for the collaboration. Operational claims describe the capabilities actually available and demonstrated. Fluency cannot establish truth. A model's confidence cannot validate its own source. A long conversation cannot substitute for a maintained editorial record.
| Studio responsibility | QwaiAI's contribution | My decision or review |
|---|---|---|
| Direction | Bring the current goal, next chapter, open decisions, and constraints into view | Choose the day's priority and settle conflicts of purpose. |
| Research | Locate primary material; extract claims with dates, quotations, and links | Inspect consequential evidence and approve its use. |
| Drafting | Develop scenes, stems, alternatives, and transitions from the approved brief | Read, revise, reject, and own the final prose. |
| Continuity | Compare names, timeline, knowledge, promises, objects, and world rules | Resolve ambiguity and approve changes to canon. |
| Editorial challenge | Argue a strong opposing interpretation; identify repetition and weak stakes | Decide whether the criticism improves the work. |
| Production | Prepare packages, metadata, media briefs, and edition comparisons | Authorize the release after the completed review. |
| Community | Summarize consented feedback and help prepare exercises or agendas | Exercise judgment in relationships and member decisions. |
Six records make continuity practical
- The canon: names, ages once chosen, relationships, world rules, geography, timeline, and fixed plot facts.
- The knowledge record: what each principal knows at each chapter, and how that knowledge arrives.
- The promise record: clues, questions, apparent contradictions, and the chapter in which each resolves or changes.
- The research record: claim, source, publication date, access date, status, uncertainty, and the fictional departure.
- The production record: draft, revision, approval, scheduled release, media readiness, editions, and corrections.
- The decision record: issue, chosen direction, reason, affected chapters, owner, and next review.
The first working version can use ordinary structured documents. A more elaborate platform earns development through an observed need. I keep one authoritative copy of each record and exportable copies of the manuscript and assets. The project must survive a change of software or AI provider.
Research entries use explicit states: verified contemporary fact, attributed claim, contested interpretation, speculative extrapolation, or fictional invention. A real-world robotics announcement enters as a dated announcement until its actual deployment receives evidence. A fictional AGI city remains a fictional extrapolation even when components resemble existing research.
A daily instruction I can reuse
Read the approved canon, the current volume brief, the last three chapters, and the open promise record. Bring forward today's publishing chapter and today's drafting chapter as separate entries. Name the next consequential choice, the narrator's route to knowledge, the source gaps, and the ten proposed stems. Draft only from the approved direction and supplied testimony. Preserve present tense and my spelj voice. Flag invented biography, unsupported claims, contradictions, and any change to canon. Prepare an editorial review and publication package for my decision. End with the one task that most protects tomorrow's work.
This instruction describes a working ritual. It creates no scheduled automation by itself. The actual studio still needs its records, available tools, and the author's review.
08 · My nomadic life protects the next chapter
The journey feeds the work through place, observation, reading, conversation, and hospitality. A country stamp cannot substitute for a scene. I choose a pace that gives me enough time to inhabit a place and finish sentences within it.
A working base of roughly three to six weeks provides a useful starting experiment. I arrange a reliable desk, quiet, sleep, movement, and a repeatable writing interval. Research walks and conversations follow the morning's creative work where circumstances permit. Travel days consume prepared releases from the reserve.
A model working day
| Block | Practice | Concrete output |
|---|---|---|
| Opening hour | Prayer, Scripture, close reading, movement, and a brief review of direction | One question or passage that sharpens attention. |
| First writing block, 2 hours | Compose or substantially revise the next drafting chapter with QwaiAI | A scene sequence that moves the story. |
| Second writing block, 2 hours | Complete stems, examine the argument, and read aloud | Usable prose added to the approved reserve. |
| Editorial block, 45 minutes | Review today's prepared release and inspect flagged evidence | A final release decision. |
| Field block, about 1 hour | Observe a place, conduct an arranged conversation, or examine a source | Dated notes with clear factual status. |
| Community block, 30 minutes | Answer a member, welcome a reader, or offer a considered invitation | One useful human contribution. |
| Closing check, 15 minutes | Update the reserve, record the next sentence, and close the studio | A clear starting point for tomorrow. |
This model contains about six and a half hours of working blocks plus the opening practice. Club salons replace a field or community block on their scheduled day. The next two weeks test actual drafting speed and concentration. I revise the blocks around evidence from my own work.
Daily publication draws from a reserve. It does not require drafting the public chapter on the day it appears. My proposed launch reserve holds 21 complete, edited, approved chapters, about 52,500 narrative words. The publication queue begins at Chapter 1 while new writing continues from Chapter 22.
At 2,500 words per day, seven releases consume 17,500 words a week. Six writing days that each produce an average of 3,250 usable words yield 19,500 words. The difference adds 2,000 words to the reserve each week. Those figures describe approved output after revision; raw machine drafts do not count. The seventh day can hold rest and reading while its prepared chapter publishes. The pace needs a real rehearsal before it becomes a public commitment.
| Reserve of approved chapters | Operating response |
|---|---|
| 21 or more | Continue the writing rhythm; permit selected media and community experiments. |
| 14-20 | Reduce optional asset production and rebuild the reserve. |
| 7-13 | Defer new travel moves and new offers; use available work blocks for the manuscript. |
| Fewer than 7 | Review the release plan immediately. Use the remaining reserve deliberately and communicate any necessary interruption plainly. |
A missed release keeps its original chapter number. I give readers an honest revised date and resume in sequence. Filler creates a second problem while hiding the first. A factual or continuity error receives a visible correction through the edition record.
The Four Pillars give the weekly life review a familiar frame. Wealth asks whether the work has enough financial support and whether commitments fit available capacity. Wisdom asks what reading, reporting, and criticism change my judgment. Wellness asks whether the rhythm sustains my body and attention. Worthiness asks whether my conduct keeps faith with the principles I publish. These questions guide practice; they confer no ranking upon a person's value.
09 · Qualped Club becomes a community of authors
The Club gathers people who want to build an examined future through words, action, and relationship. Readers arrive through the novel's questions. Practising members arrive with work of their own. A core community forms when people return, contribute, accept correction, and help one another continue.
The proposed first cohort contains twelve adults. That number permits a manageable trial beside the novel. The founding circle can expand toward thirty-six after the operating rhythm and member outcomes hold. These numbers describe a capacity experiment, with no scarcity claim attached to enrollment.
The Club's luxury comes through considered hospitality, calm, beauty, privacy, serious conversation, and time with capable people. Its wider mission requires affordable entry and useful public resources. A private salon can offer a distinctive experience while the essential practice remains available through open reading circles and supported participation.
| Participation | What a person does | What Qualped provides |
|---|---|---|
| Public reader and open circle | Reads, discusses a chapter, tries a short authorship exercise | A clear starting point, selected resources, and an open route to practice. |
| Founding or working circle | Develops a personal simsbook chapter and carries its intention into action | A facilitated weekly meeting, feedback, a peer partner, and a defined working period. |
| Private Club salon or residency | Joins a carefully hosted gathering around literature, faith, technology, and an authored life | Hospitality, prepared conversation, and a bounded schedule of access. |
| Trained local host | Guides a circle through the established method and records its work | A host guide, mentoring, review, and a route for participants to raise concerns. |
| Supporting member or patron | Funds access, translation, publishing, or a specific cultural project | A clear account of the work supported and its actual results. |
The first eight weeks
Week 1 establishes a welcome, a personal stand, a baseline, and a short present-tense scene of a desired future. Week 2 names the obstacle and a practical first action. Weeks 3 and 4 develop the chapter and place evidence beside intention. Weeks 5 and 6 introduce peer critique, revision, and selected media. Week 7 prepares a shareable edition. Week 8 reviews one completed ten-stem chapter, the actions it prompts, and the next season of work.
The pilot ends with a chapter and a demonstrated practice. A whole lifetime simsbook grows through later seasons. My million-word novel establishes my own artistic scale; every member chooses a scale suited to a personal life.
A member activates by completing the welcome and one meaningful act, such as submitting a first stem, attending a circle with prepared work, or offering thoughtful peer feedback. I then look for a second act: an intention carried into life and returned as evidence. Attendance alone cannot answer whether the method helps.
The weekly gathering
A ninety-minute working circle can allocate fifteen minutes to a biblical passage and its literary pattern, fifteen to reports of action and obstacles, forty to reading and examining selected work, and twenty to commitments and mutual help. Members arrive with a short text. The facilitator protects the time and ensures that quieter members receive an opening.
A monthly salon takes a larger question from the novel into conversation. A monthly service practice carries a chosen value into the surrounding community through an appropriate local action. Members report what they attempt, what happens, and what remains unresolved. The circle reads the evidence with care.
The Bible, the great code, and words with power
The Christian foundation stands plainly in the Club's purpose. I want biblical literacy, responsible speech, love of neighbour, stewardship, truthfulness, repentance, and hope to shape how people author their lives. Scripture enters as a text to read closely and a source of demands upon conduct.
Northrop Frye's The Great Code and Words with Power provide literary companions for this inquiry. His treatment of biblical narrative and imagery helps me ask how a pattern of words can shape imagination and action. My Christian commitments remain my own theological commitments; literary criticism does not establish every theological claim. Frye archive, University of Toronto · Alvin Lee on The Great Code
| Biblical pattern for close reading | Question for the novel and the member's life |
|---|---|
| Creation and breath | What do I receive before I begin to create? What responsibility follows a gift of life? |
| Garden, vocation, and stewardship | What do I cultivate? What does my work require me to protect? |
| Temptation and the offered kingdom | Which promise asks me to surrender judgment or conscience? |
| Exodus and wilderness | What does departure from dependence cost? What practice sustains freedom? |
| Covenant and neighbour | Which promises deserve my fidelity? Whose good does my future include? |
| The Word, incarnation, and witness | How do words enter conduct, relationship, and truthful testimony? |
| Death, resurrection, and renewal | What ends, what receives new life, and what work does hope ask me to undertake? |
A recurring method connects the reading to practice: examine a passage in context, identify an image or conflict, write a personal scene, name its obstacle, choose an action, and return with evidence. Facilitators welcome honest questions and identify their interpretation. People enter with clear knowledge of the Christian foundation. Respectful participation leaves room for conscience, doubt, and disagreement.
The proposed global movement grows through translated texts, trained local hosts, accessible editions, and work that participants can show. A luxury membership fee measures access to a service. It says nothing about spiritual standing. A member's life retains dignity through failure, illness, poverty, and unfinished work. Authorship describes a practice of agency within real conditions; it offers no guarantee of control over events.
10 · The author assets support a durable livelihood
The literary work produces questions, observations, arguments, practices, and experiences that deserve forms of their own. An essay develops an idea. A whitepaper tests a proposition against evidence. A Note preserves a direction. A course teaches a method. A podcast lets a conversation unfold through voice. An event gives people a place to meet. An asset earns its existence through that use.
Each asset records its source chapter or stem. A chapter about a room that recognizes Christine can lead to an essay on recognition, a sourced paper on identity systems, a Club discussion on consent, and a personal exercise on belonging. The forms share an origin while serving different purposes.
A proposed sequence of offers
| Stage | Offer or asset | Release condition |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | The serial reading experience, a clear start page, and a concise author Note | Readers can enter, understand the promise, and return to the next chapter. |
| First volume | One paid reader offer, such as a defined serial pass; terms state exactly which text and media it includes | The delivery process works and support fits the writing rhythm. |
| First working cohort | An eight-week Club circle producing one personal chapter and evidence of action | A host, a schedule, a curriculum, and a bounded service promise exist. |
| Each completed volume | Edited ebook and print editions, plus one substantial companion asset where demand warrants it | The manuscript receives a volume edit and the companion has a distinct use. |
| Proven repeat cycle | Courses, a collected podcast, commissioned essays, or licensing of an established method | Earlier use shows a repeatable benefit and production covers its costs. |
| Later selective development | Retreats, merchandise, commissioned media, adaptations, and other partnerships | A specific opportunity supports the core work and someone can deliver it reliably. |
I recommend launching with one reader offer and one small working cohort as the primary commercial tests. Public chapter access, paid access, archive rights, and the treatment of future volumes require plain terms before enrollment. I avoid promising lifelong service through an undefined one-time purchase.
The reader's path remains simple: encounter a strong passage; read the opening chapter; understand the series; return; join a discussion; consider an authored-life practice; choose a Club offer if it fits. Invitations grow from demonstrated value. Every chapter can carry a relevant invitation, but the literary ending needs room to land.
Capacity decides the promise
A twelve-person weekly circle with a ninety-minute meeting, one hour of preparation and administration, and ten minutes of individual feedback per member consumes about four and a half hours a week. Two circles double that work before recruitment, events, or extra support. I price and staff the service around the work it actually requires.
The monthly operating review records personal living costs, travel provision, publishing and software costs, paid help, service delivery, cash received, and existing obligations. I use collected revenue and actual costs. Speculative film rights and future membership ambitions contribute zero to the current cash plan.
Working calculation: required paying readers or members equals the remaining monthly cost gap divided by net monthly contribution per purchaser, rounded upward. Net contribution means revenue remaining after the direct costs of serving that purchaser. I count my own delivery time when evaluating sustainability, even when cash accounting temporarily excludes it.
The budget starts with my actual figures. A pilot can test willingness to pay and the cost of delivery before a larger commitment. The next offer waits when the manuscript reserve weakens or member service exceeds capacity. A dedicated host or production helper becomes useful when a recurring task can transfer with a clear standard and adequate income.
Public author positioning
I am Shaun Michael Samaroo, a journalist and the author of Nightmares of Knowledge, a ten-volume novel about humanity inside the Age of Technology. I publish its world one chapter a day through the simsbook form. My genre, spelj, brings short story, personal essay, and literary journalism into a present-tense narration. QwaiAI serves as cognitive executive for research and drafting. Through Qualped Club, I invite people to develop worlds of their own through an authored future, a personal simsbook, and a community of practice.
This positioning identifies the daily promise once publication begins. Before launch, the corresponding sentence reads “I prepare to publish its world one chapter a day.” Statements about available features follow demonstrated capability. My evidence accumulates through released chapters, coherent editions, and members who can show their work.
11 · The frontier I can build toward
The novel itself can serve as the sustained experiment. New features receive a name, a reader or author need, a small prototype, and a measure of usefulness. The following proposals describe directions to test. They make no claim to exist as functioning Qualped capabilities today.
| Proposed addition | What it makes possible | Small first experiment and gate |
|---|---|---|
| A story atlas with spoiler limits | Readers explore places, systems, objects, and relationships only up to their chosen chapter | Build an atlas for Volume I. Continue if readers use it to recover orientation without encountering later revelations. |
| A witness view | Readers inspect the sources, assumptions, and fictional departures behind a scene | Annotate three chapters. Continue if readers can reliably distinguish evidence, interpretation, and invention. |
| An author conversation bounded by the text | A QwaiAI reading companion answers with chapter citations and admits gaps | Test on one approved volume. Continue only when review shows accurate citations and dependable spoiler boundaries. |
| Two synchronized timelines | Readers move between the date of publication and the chronology inside the fiction | Give one volume both views and preserve its original releases. Continue if the distinction improves navigation. |
| A personal future rehearsal | A member explores alternative scenes, names obstacles, chooses an action, and compares the result with intention | Pilot with the founding circle. Continue when members return with usable decisions and actual evidence. |
| A room that carries a book | An author places selected stems on chosen physical surfaces as a stable presence in daily life | Begin with printed paragraphs and a single display experiment. Examine whether the placement supports recall and revision. |
| A score that follows the reader | Voluntary sound motifs accompany a scene or character without breaking concentration | Produce motifs for the three principals and test one chapter with sound on or off. Retain reader control. |
| A multilingual edition with a human voice | Local readers enter both the novel and the authorship practice through their language | Commission review of a short translated sample with a style glossary. Expand after literary and cultural review. |
| A circle's shared place | Members meet within a modest physical or digital setting inspired by a chapter | Host one salon with text, sound, and a single visual installation. Continue if it deepens discussion within a viable budget. |
| A portable simsbook package | An author can export prose, media, addresses, metadata, and revision history | Export and reopen one complete sample in an independent reading surface. Expand when the book survives separation from the original platform. |
The room proposal extends an idea already present in my essay Words Need an Address. This Note turns that direction into a bounded experiment for the novel and the Club. It carries forward the interest in placing authored text in lived space without repeating unverified hardware claims. Words Need an Address
The greatest expansion joins fiction to personal practice. A reader experiences Christine's question about a promise, examines a comparable choice in life, writes a future scene, and undertakes a small action. The person returns with evidence that can contradict the scene. QwaiAI helps revise the account. The community supplies a perspective the private page cannot provide alone.
That practice needs a boundary around canon. A reader can explore an alternate possibility in a clearly marked sandbox. The alternate scene never silently changes my novel. A member's future simulation describes a possibility, with assumptions and uncertainty. It provides material for judgment and action.
The Qualped simsbook library
The proposed library preserves each author's identity, choices, and work. Public shelves hold material an author deliberately publishes. Private workspaces hold drafts and personal material. A member can share a chapter with a circle before choosing public publication. Visibility follows the author's decision at the relevant level.
Every published simsbook needs a title, author, description, stable identifier, publication status, language, edition record, permissions, and a clear means of contacting or following its author when that author chooses. Text and media need accessible versions. Discovery can begin with themes, places, practices, and the Four Pillars. Members can carry exports of their own work.
Qualped's intended publishing relationship should preserve authors' ownership through clear publishing permissions. Community participation should confer no silent claim upon a person's life story or work. AI assistance with a member's material needs a clear account of how that material enters the service. These commitments define the product I want the institution to deliver.
Global adoption starts with a method another person can repeat. One circle completes a season. A second host reproduces the practice. Participants publish selected work with consent. Local language and context enter through competent people. The growing library supplies examples, cultural memory, and evidence of what the practice makes possible.
12 · The 400-day campaign and the return after it
The campaign uses two clocks. Publication day names the chapter readers receive. Production position names the chapter I develop ahead of that release. The daily board shows both. An unfinished drafting chapter does not masquerade as a release-ready chapter.
Preparation and the first fortnight
Preparation takes as long as the manuscript reserve and rehearsal require. A six-week preparation window offers a planning example, subject to the amount of approved material already available. An imminent public introduction can show the project and a sample while the daily release date remains tied to readiness.
| Preparation period | Work to complete | Evidence of completion |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1-2 | Adopt the governing sentence, cast, word budget, name spelling, and narrator's knowledge rules | A short canon record and an explicit decision on the million-word arithmetic. |
| Days 3-4 | Write the private ending account, character arcs, and ten volume briefs | Each volume carries a distinct choice and consequence. |
| Days 5-7 | Outline the first forty chapters; draft and revise the first ten-stem chapter | A complete sample reads coherently aloud and in text-only form. |
| Days 8-10 | Test the sample with a small group of readers; inspect comprehension and intrigue | Readers can describe Christine's desire, Luc's appeal, and the narrator's role. |
| Days 11-14 | Revise the sample, test the publishing package, and rehearse the daily studio | Measured usable writing output, a tested reading route, and a realistic reserve-building plan. |
| Remaining preparation | Build twenty-one approved chapters, complete the start page, and prepare the initial Club pilot | A release reserve, a clear reader promise, and bounded member commitments. |
The first concrete task is the canon record and the opening chapter's purpose. A platform expansion has to wait for that literary evidence.
Publication milestones
| Publication period | Literary obligation | Community and publishing work |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1-40 | Complete Volume I's daily releases while drafting ahead | Watch where readers stall; run the first small circle; correct the reading experience. |
| Days 41-80 | Complete Volume II and review the first eighty chapters for repetition | Edit the first volume for collected editions; examine pilot outcomes and actual delivery hours. |
| Days 81-120 | Complete Volume III with an earned widening of stakes | Repeat the circle only with capacity; test one selected frontier feature. |
| Days 121-160 | Complete Volume IV and make the relationship's terms explicit | Publish a considered companion asset; document a hostable version of the circle. |
| Days 161-200 | Complete Volume V and test the narrator's credibility | Conduct a midpoint review of story quality, reserve, costs, health, and member work. |
| Days 201-240 | Complete Volume VI and reveal the scale of Luc's design | Trial a second host or language only if the method transfers reliably. |
| Days 241-280 | Complete Volume VII and sustain the cost of Christine's refusal | Consolidate member publications and strengthen the library's basic navigation and export. |
| Days 281-320 | Complete Volume VIII and preserve material consequences | Reduce new commitments as the final two volumes demand attention. |
| Days 321-360 | Complete Volume IX and account for every major outstanding promise | Prepare the finale's edition and reader communications; defer optional product launches. |
| Days 361-400 | Complete Volume X and its aftermath | Mark the completion through a reading and a review of the work, then state the next publication phase. |
| Days 401-460, proposed | Complete whole-work continuity review, corrections, and final collected editions | Preserve the archive; assess the Club; publish an account of results; choose the next season. |
Print and ebook production follows completed, edited volumes at a pace supported by capacity. The day a volume's final chapter appears does not automatically become the day its print edition ships. Dates become public when production can support them.
The scorecard that keeps the work honest
| Measure | Definition and use |
|---|---|
| Publication progress | Completed public chapters divided by 400; show the count as well as the percentage. |
| Narrative progress | Approved narrative words against the one-million-word target; exclude ancillary assets. |
| Release reserve | Complete approved chapters awaiting publication; inspect the oldest unreviewed assumptions within them. |
| Story quality | Reader accounts of desire, stakes, and change; substantive editorial findings and unresolved contradictions. |
| Reader return | The share of a defined starting-reader group that returns to a later chapter, using disclosed measurement where available. |
| Member activation | Members who complete onboarding and a meaningful first contribution; track a subsequent action in life separately. |
| Member continuity | Members who return with work and participate over a stated period; record reasons for departure where volunteered. |
| Lived evidence | Self-reported actions and outcomes linked to a member's stated intention, with context and consent for any publication. |
| Service capacity | Actual weekly hours spent facilitating, supporting, producing, and administering. |
| Financial support | Collected revenue, actual cost, near-term commitments, and the remaining cost gap. |
| Personal sustainability | Sleep, energy, concentration, health, relationships, and the felt capacity to continue the practice. |
The first forty days establish a baseline for reader and member behaviour. Any later numerical target should follow that baseline. The release reserve thresholds serve as proposed operating choices, not industry benchmarks. Participant reports can reveal usefulness without establishing that the method causes every improvement.
The review rhythm
The daily review takes a few minutes and identifies tomorrow's first task. The weekly review examines seven releases, the reserve, one unresolved story issue, member commitments, and my own capacity. Every forty chapters, I review the volume's dramatic turn, recurring language, product delivery, cash, and the next volume's promises. Day 200 receives a deeper reset. Day 400 receives a completion review and a clear account of the work still owed.

13 · The page I return to
The room grows quiet again. A city continues beyond the window. I look at the paragraph where Christine stands inside Luc's offer. She holds a question he cannot answer by improving the room. I hear the question reach into my own work.
My book asks who authors the human future. My conduct supplies part of the answer. I owe a reader a story with consequence. I owe a member the service I promise. I owe the people who enter my journalism an honest account. I owe the work enough patience to correct it. I receive another day of breath and choose the next act within it.
The Club begins wherever people read carefully, speak truthfully, and return with work. The library grows wherever an author gives a considered form to a life and chooses what to share. A movement acquires substance through those particular acts. Its global horizon remains open while the next person receives attention.
I carry the whole tree in mind and place my hand on the next stem. A sentence gives the morning its task. I write it, examine it, and continue the work.

The primary design source is my brief of 8 September 2026. Earlier instructions and writing inform voice and vocabulary. This edition deliberately updates earlier differences in cast, stem length, cadence, and QwaiAI's drafting role. The strategy, plot proposals, schedules, and feature experiments represent synthesis and recommendations, rather than reported results.
