The Life Formula
A proposed reading of your handwritten model. The notation stacks a large f over L to denote the function of life. The key defines L as life. Parentheses group each complete expression and each powered sum.
Mind toward positive infinity
Time × (vision + knowledge + machine + prayer)faith + world context
Mind toward negative infinity
Time × (survival + finance + existential concerns)senses − God context
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Function of life, following the author’s stacked notation. | |
| f | Function symbol. |
| L | Life. |
| m | Mind, inferred from the adjacent handwritten label. |
| T | Time. |
| V | Vision. |
| K | Knowledge. |
| M | Machine. |
| P | Prayer. |
| φ | Faith, proposed reading of the upper exponent. |
| WC | World context, inferred from the handwritten context label. |
| S | Survival. |
| F | Finance. The separate symbol φ avoids confusing finance with faith. |
| E | Existential concerns, from the handwritten word “Existential.” |
| σ | Senses, proposed reading of the lower exponent. |
| GC | God context, inferred from the handwritten context label. |
| I | Impact. Your notes name this term, but do not clearly locate it in either expression. |
| lim, ±∞ | A limit and its positive or negative direction. These symbols describe the direction of m; they do not establish an infinite result for the life function. |
Reading notes
I interpret the upper power as faith and the lower power as senses. Crossed-out marks leave the exact exponent structure uncertain. I read the outer terms as +WC and −GC; the handwriting leaves their placement open to correction.
I place prayer inside the upper parentheses, following the handwritten +P beneath V + K + M. The stacked f over L follows the author’s chosen notation for a function of life. Conventional mathematics uses f(L) for a function of L and reads a fraction f/L as division. Here the stacked symbol carries the author’s stated meaning. The symbol m retains its separate role in the sketch’s mind-limit notation.
The upper sketch also names God and Jesus. I retain “Impact” in the key without inventing an algebraic position for it.
These equations express a conceptual model. Numerical calculation would require measurement scales, relationships among the terms, and an explicit link to the limit variable.
